The dawn of August 15, 1974 not only welcomed the anniversary of Indian independence but also marked the beginning of a new chapter in the annals of education in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

This eventful day saw the forming of MNR Educational Trust, founded by Sri. M.N. Raju, Chairman of MNR Educational Group, who conceived the idea of network of MNR institutions long before it was given a concrete shape, and is the guiding and motivating force that inspires the dedicated staff members and the ever growing numbers of the student community.

The philosophy of Sri. M.N. Raju is to shape the students into proud citizens of this great nation, laying emphasis on honing their innate skills and addressing their psychological and spiritual needs. His rich and varied experience has helped the group to evolve a unique student-centric teaching approach, which transforms the students into competent future professionals and lead a successful career.

MNR COLLEGE OF NURSING

The nursing college was established in the year 2002 with an intake of 40 and from 2006 onwards it was increased to 100. It is recognised by Indian nursing council and affliated to Dr.NTR university of health sciences Vijayawada and Kaloji Narayana Rao university Warangal. Our college has independent spacious building adjacent to medical college and hospital with good infrastructure as per the norms of the regulatory bodies. The institution has designed a course pattern that meets the requirements of world class quality and provides necessary academic environment to maintain the standards of nursing profession. MNR College of nursing has also started with M.Sc nursing course in 2009. Our institution motivates and orients the students in wider aspects of clinical experience and provide comprehensive nursing care. Our Students who have completed the course in our Nursing College are working worldwide, spreading the fragrance of MNR.

PHILOSOPHY

Nursing is a dynamic profession that is scientifically based and is influenced by advances and innovations in science and technology as well as the emerging trends in society and health care delivery system. Nursing as a profession makes definite contribution to human welfare that includes promotion of health, prevention of illness, alleviation of suffering, care of sick, counselling and rehabilitation. Nursing is based on values of caring, and aims to help individuals to attain independence in self-care. It necessitates development of compassion and understanding of human behaviour among its practitioners to provide care with respect and dignity and protect the rights of individual & groups. The scope of nursing practice encompasses provision of promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative aspects of care to people across their life span in wide variety of health care settings. Practice of nursing is based upon application of basic concepts and principles derived from the physical, biological and behavioural sciences, medicine and nursing.

MNR college of nursing strives for the personal and professional growth of students. The faculty motivates the students to be future nurse clinicians, administrators, educators and researchers to impart high level of performance.

Undergraduate nursing program is broad based education within an academic framework specifically directed to the development of critical thinking skills, competencies & standards required for practice of professional nursing and it prepares its graduates to become exemplary citizen by adhering to code of ethics and professional conduct at all times in fulfilling personal , social and professional obligations so as to respond to national aspirations.

The PG programme in nursing would emphasize to use cognitive, affective and psychomotor skills in the concerned specialities meeting the health needs of individuals, families and communities and stimulate students to study in various branches of nursing.
